COMPETITION RULES
- In all competition categories except Best of Show, three placement awards are given: 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
- Only 1 award is given in the Best of Show category. There is no second or third place in this category.
- Except for the Best of Healed Black & Grey and Best of Healed Color categories, all tattoos entered in the competition must have been done in the İzmir Tattoo Fest 2026 festival area.
- Outside the Healed categories, no partially or fully healed tattoo is accepted into the competition.
- Except for the specified special and upper categories, the same tattoo in the same state may enter only one main competition category.
- If work on a project continues during the festival, the same tattoo may re-enter the competition on the following day in its new state and in a different category it qualifies for.
Example: A piece that competed in the Best of Small Color category on Saturday, whether it placed or not, may re-enter the competition on Sunday if the artist continues working on the same project on Sunday and the tattoo, in its new state, qualifies for a different category.
- In such a case, the artist must present photographic or visual proof of the state in which the tattoo entered the previous competition to the registration desk. If it cannot be documented that work was done on the project, the same tattoo will not be accepted into a second main category.
- Best of Friday, Best of Saturday, Best of Sunday and Best of Show are exceptions to the single category rule, as they are the upper categories of the day or of the festival.
- Best of Collab is a special category and is subject to its own special rules.
- The tattoo entered in the competition must have been done by the artist who registers it. In the Best of Collab category, the project must have been carried out jointly by at least two artists.
- The model must be present during the jury evaluation and, if deemed necessary, during the preliminary round.
- If a category receives more than 25 entries, a preliminary round may be held in front of the stage.
- Categories with a preliminary round will be announced during the festival day. Announcements will be made more than once, but following them is the responsibility of the competitors.
- If a preliminary round is held, competitors who do not attend or miss it will not be included in the main stage evaluation.
- Competition entries must be completed no later than 1 hour before the start of the respective competition category.
- To allow registration and checks to be completed, entries made after 14.30 will not be accepted.
- The jury and competition management reserve the right to remove a piece from a category if they determine that it does not match the category definition, style or size requirements it was entered under.
- In categories with size limits, the official measurement system used by the festival management will be the basis.
